M8MC is a fresh new label that takes off where Mantis Recordings left off, incorporating the same quality and underground ideals as its predecessor, but with an extra serving of avant garde and an emphasis on uncompromisingly gritty production.

M8MC’s ancestry can be traced back to 1996, when label founder, Clive Astin, also known as Clyde, played a pivotal role in the founding of Mantis Recordings and remixed Atjazz on the labels very first 12″. 

Accumulating extensive industry knowledge over the years, Clyde developed his own sound throughout the Mantis years which culminated in a demand to launch his own label to champion his own rougher, quirkier sound.

M8MC not only has an exciting schedule of Clyde releases, featuring remixes from the likes of Hearin’ Aid, Atjazz and Charles Webster, but the label also has an array of exhilarating releases from house and hip hop artists from both sides of the Atlantic.
